A quiet night on Walnut Street turned into chaos when bullets blasted through the front door of a Portsmouth home, narrowly missing the people inside.
“I Heard Glass Break — I Didn’t Think Anything of It”
Police say they received a frantic 911 call from a resident who reported being shot at while lying on the couch.
According to the caller, both her ex-husband and son-in-law were home when they suddenly heard glass shatter — but at first, they thought it was nothing serious. Moments later, they realized someone had fired into the house.
👮 Investigation Underway
Officers rushed to the scene, where they secured the home, collected evidence, and impounded several items as part of the investigation.
Detectives also took statements from everyone inside the residence and are now working to trace where the gunfire came from.
So far, no injuries have been reported, but police say the situation could have been deadly.
