A man says he’s being stalked by a dangerous woman who tried to run him over with her car and beat him up plus officers helped revive an apparent overdose victim at the Four Keys Inn.  Plus police towed so many cars lately, they’re running out of room at the impound lot.  We break down the highlights of the PPD Crime Log.

Kidnapped or Confused?

Police responded to the Taco Bell at 6 am for an alarming call.  A woman claimed a man had held her captive.

Four units arrived to check out the serious claims. Police determined the woman was experiencing mental health issues.

An ambulance transported her to SOMC. A doctor determined she was a danger to herself and placed a medical hold. It also appears she was under the influence of drugs.

Towed Away

  • Officer got busy towing vehicles early. Just before 7 am, they hit the Woodbine Apartments and towed a vehicle marked for a 72-hour parking violation.  An officer allowed a woman to get her property out of the vehicle before it was towed away.
  • Police arranged a tow for a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Grandview. The vehicle has been there for some time, has a flat tire, and a parking ticket that’s overdue by 317 days.
  • At 11:21, they had to do a little rearranging at the impound lot. Someone came to get a vehicle but there were three others sitting in front of it. At the Police Chief’s suggestion, an officer had the vehicles towed around to make more room.
  • Police marked two additional vehicles on 5th Street for towing at 11:55 am.
  • A Gilbert Street caller reported a boat parked in the same spot for several days. Police notified the owner of the boat at 2 pm to move it within 24 hours or be towed.

Gun Clip Found At Car Wash

An employee of the Magic Tunnel Car Wash discovered a loaded gun clip in the parking lot just after noon. The rightful owner came back to claim it.

Suspicious Stuff

An employee of Hall’s Motor Sports on Walnut asked police if they could keep an eye out for a couple of guys that were hanging around the area. They made her nervous. Police checked and discovered a teen waiting for his school bus.

PMHA maintenance asked police to check an apartment on Kendall Avenue. Maintenance discovered both storm doors locked at a vacant apartment. Police checked and the apartment was vacant.

Hey, That’s My Stuff!

  • Officers responded to Hudson House at 7:43 am for a report of items missing from a truck parked near the building. A thief took a golly and 2 tie-down straps. There is video of the theft. Police took information for a report.
  • At 10:26 am, the staff at Notre Dame Elementary reported a possible theft at the school.
  • Police detained a shoplifter at Kroger just before 3 pm. They issued a summons.
  • A 7th Street resident reported a garage break-in just after 3 pm. Police took information for a report.

Under The Influence

  • A Robinson Avenue caller reported syringes lying on the ground behind an empty home at 2:14 pm. Officers picked up multiple needles.
  • An employee of OSCO Industries discovered a needle at 3:18 pm. Police disposed of the needle.
  • A 5th Street caller reported an apparently high man walking in traffic at 6:21 pm. Police could not locate him.

Help! A Stranger Tried To Kill Me

A  Findlay Street man contacted police at 2:44 pm to complain a strange woman attempted to run him over with her car.

He does not know who the woman is, only that she is short, on the heavy side, and wears her hair in a messy bun. He also reported she drives a black sportscar but he does not know the make or model.

Unwelcome Guests

Just after 9 pm, a 4th Street caller told police that the people who’ve been staying with her since Friday had refused to leave.

Police suggested they get their stuff and leave or leave and make arrangements to come back and pick it up during the day.

Officer Revives Suspected Overdose Victim

At 11:13 pm, police responded to a report of a woman passed out in a vehicle on the lot of the Four Keys Inn on the Scioto Trail.

When police arrived on the scene, the woman was unresponsive in her vehicle. An officer administered Narcan while another officer summoned medics to the scene.

The PFD medics were able to bring the woman back to consciousness. An ambulance transported the victim to the hospital.
