SWAT Team Seizes Heroin, Crack, Meth & Cash in Mabert Road Raid

Members of the PPD SWAT seized drugs, cash, & guns in a Friday morning Raid at a Mabert Road home.

According to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, the raid went down on Friday morning just after 9 am in the 1800 block of Mabert Road in Portsmouth.

The Southern Ohio Drug Taskforce, assisted by the Portsmouth Police Department SWAT team, executed a search warrant and hit the drug jackpot.

Officers seized meth, heroin/fentanyl, crack, digital scales, $2,339 in cash, five firearms, digital scales, sandwich bags, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. 

Police busted Lawrence Coleman Hicks and charged him with drug trafficking and possession charges and weapons charges. 

Officers took him to the Scioto County Jail.

This morning the court set his bail at $325,000.

The case will eventually be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional felony charges.
