1. Teen Caught Using Meth in Hospital
Officers responded to SOMC after a CPS worker reported they found baggies and a glass pipe on a teenager they were accompanying to the hospital.
A hospital employee said the teen went to use the bathroom and handed them the paraphernalia. The employee immediately gave the drugs and pipes to a security guard.
The CPS worker advised PPD that the teen had tested positive for methamphetamines. The teen claimed to have last used drugs three days ago.
Officers could not question the teen, as their parents were not present. CPS was undecided if they would take custody of the teen or not.
Police impounded the suspicious items.
2. Woman Reports U-Haul Stolen
At 2:30 pm, an Arizona Avenue caller contacted police to report someone stole a U-Haul from her home while she was visiting her grandmother in the hospital. She described the truck as having a dent in the side.
A deputy heading the scene spotted the truck in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree, and stopped to check it out. He learned that the vehicle had not been stolen; the company had simply come to pick up their truck.
