Just before 6 am, witnesses reported that a car crashed into a utility pole and a house on Bloom Street in Sciotoville. The witnesses said two teens jumped from the car and took off toward the Faststop.
When officers responded to the scene, they discovered the car had hit the front porch. AEP sent a repair crew to the scene to take care of the utility pole.
A Kentland Avenue caller said the kids involved in the crash turned up at her home screaming and injured, claiming that “dope boys” beat them up and requested an ambulance.
Officers cited the teen driver, and EMS transported both the driver and his female passenger to the hospital for treatment. The teen driver was on probation, so officers also notified his probation officer. Police arranged to have the vehicle towed and took information for a report.
Officers also discovered that a vehicle hit several utility poles on Waller Street overnight before abandoning the vehicle. Dispatch notified AEP about the damage and officers had the vehicle towed.
