Portsmouth Police were called to High Street just after midnight on October 31 after a woman reported catching two teenagers trying to break into a truck.
The caller told police she confronted the pair and said they threatened to “hit her house next” before walking north on High Street.
She described both as teenage males wearing all black.
As officers checked the area, police received another report that someone had tried to kick in the door of a nearby residence. Officers noted what appeared to be a shoe mark on the door and said the suspects were again described as wearing all black.
About two hours later, police received another call from nearby Grant Street about a group of teenagers in dark clothing walking through private property and lingering near a park. The caller later reported seeing them near 18th Street and Grandview Avenue.
Officers located one juvenile behind a residence. He told police his friends had run when they saw officers and said everyone was heading home.
Police ultimately gave five juveniles a ride to an 18th Street address.
The reports do not establish that the juveniles located later were responsible for the earlier attempted break-ins.
