Thelma Jean Ford Penn, 88 of Piketon, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Traditions of Bristol Village in Waverly. She was born on February 2, 1937 in Pike County to the late Harry Ford and the late Mary Belle Davis Ford. On June 19, 1954 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Ira Penn who preceded her in death on October 19, 2022. Surviving are her children; Benny (Pat) Penn of Piketon, Barry (Becky) Penn of Piketon and Brenda (Doug) Pfeifer of Waverly; grandchildren, Travis (Brittany) Pfeifer of Hillsboro, Matt Penn of Piketon, Bryan (Jessica) Pfeifer of Waverly, Dustin (Danielle) Pfeifer of Waverly, Kyle (Nikki) Penn of Piketon, McKenzie (Aaron) Swango of Piketon and Caleb (Ali) Penn of Waverly; 16 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and an extra one on the way in May; sister, Ruby Ford Creech of Beavercreek and sister in law; JoAnne Herman Ford of Waverly. In addition to her husband and parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her siblings; Lewis Ford, Charles Ford, Harry Ford, Jr., Lafay Ford, Elsie Ford Hart and Maggie Ford Ackley and her half-brother; LB Herman Ford.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Aaron Swango officiating with burial to follow in Bethel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 25, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Thelma’s family would like to thank the staff of Bristol Memory Gardens for the care they provided to their mother during her time there.
