Police responded to Hutchins Street after a caller reported the back door was open to a condemned house.
When officers investigated, they discovered the home belonged to a man who had recently passed away and was still filled with his belongings and that the house was still in probate court. They said it was obvious people had been going through the home and stealing items.
Police asked neighbors to report any activity. One responded with a video showing two bicyclists taking large items from the house and riding off toward Mound Park.

City Services also headed to the scene to board up the rear door.
