Teenage runaways can be a big headache for law enforcement. Though most return home on their own, the ones that don’t can find themselves easy prey for human traffickers and other criminals. Some even fall into criminal activity themselves.
Just after 1:30 pm, Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy got a tip that a missing teen was at a Plum Street home. When officers arrived on the scene, they took the girl into custody.
Officers learned the child was wanted in Virginia, and they were willing to extradite. They transported the child to a juvenile detention facility but on the drive, she admitted to having a razor hidden in her waistband.
Deputies stopped at the Pike County Sheriff’s Office so officers could confiscate the weapon and the took the child to the Ross County Juvenile Detention Facility.
