Woman Disappointed When Help Arrives
Just after 10 am, officers responded to a request to check on a woman and her children in a possible domestic violence situation.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a woman and her dog on the porch. She told the officer she contacted someone earlier but was disappointed that they sent the police over.
The woman told officers she had the number to the shelter but did not want to leave as there was no physical violence. Nothing appeared suspicious at the home and the woman said her husband wasn’t home.
Tow Truck Followed by Suspicious Driver
A tow truck driver complained to police at 10:28 am that a stranger in a black pickup truck was following him.
It turned out the driver of the black pickup was just attempting to flag him down because he needed a vehicle towed.
Worried Mom
A worried mother contacted officers at 12:17 pm. She requested officers check on her son who was staying at the Four Keys Inn.
She said she spoke to him, and he didn’t sound like himself.
When officers went to the hotel, owners advised them no one by that name was staying there and they had no information about him.
Suspicious Activity
Just before 1 pm, police answered a call to the Marathon on the Scioto Trail. A customer said a man inside was causing problems with the employees. The man left before the police arrived.
Under the Influence
A caller reported a man crouched down and acting as if he were on drugs on 7th Street. Officers discovered the man was overdosing. Fire department medics transported him to the hospital.
Domestic Disturbance
At 4:20 pm, officers responded to Highland Avenue for a report of a man preventing a woman from leaving a home.
When police arrived, she said it had all been verbal. The man left before police arrived and the woman said she also planned to leave the area.
Dog Left Out In the Cold
At 4:40 pm, a woman called police to a Charles Street home for a report of animal neglect. She said there was a dog outside in a cage with a blanket over it.
She said the animal was shivering, had no water bowl, and its food is soaked from the rain.
Police said there was nothing they could do but attempt to get in touch with animal control but were worried because it was very cold that night.
It turned out the dog was fine. He was placed outside while the owner cleaned up a mess in the house.
