Gary Lynn Adams, 69, of Minford, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at his home. He was born June 18, 1951, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Vernon and Polly Ellen Williams Adams.
Gary was retired from Glockner Auto and was of the Baptist faith. He was a 1969 Clay High School graduate and a member of the Lucasville Masonic Lodge #469. A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service.
Surviving are his son, Jeremy (Sheena) Lundy of Jackson; two daughters, Heather (Joe) Sissel of West Portsmouth and Sharee (David) Crawford of Orlando, FL; a stepson, Kenneth Boehm of West Portsmouth; his former wife, Donna Adams of Friendship; a brother, Kenneth (Lou) “Roger” Adams of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, D.J. Crawford, Haley Duncan, Justin Evans Emily Sissel, and Ryan Sissel; and three great-grandchildren.
His sister, Beverly Ann Lewis, and a stepdaughter, Tammy, also preceded him in death.
A Masonic Service will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth by the Lucasville Lodge #469 F&AM, followed immediately by a Memorial Service with Pastor Darrell Nickles officiating. Interment will be in the Rubyville Community Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by the James Dickey Post #23 American Legion Honor Detail
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Masks will be required for attendance and will not be provided.
The flag of the U.S. Army will fly at the funeral home in honor of Mr. Adams’ service to our country.
