Barbara Kay Palma, a gifted singer, actress, and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born on January 25, 1940, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Leonard Phillips and Thelma May Lyons (Phillips/Farr), Barbara possessed a rare, enchanting voice and a vibrant spirit that left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her extraordinary artistic journey took her around the globe, captivating audiences from the lively resorts of the Catskill Mountains to the historic landscapes of Italy. As a proud alumna of Kent State University Theatre, she shared her immense talent with dignitaries such as Dick Celeste and John Glenn, viewing her music as a lifelong calling to share with others.
At home, Barbara was a true diva, relishing her passions for cooking, shopping, gardening, and collecting antiques. Her laughter, humor, and grand presence will be deeply missed by the family she loved so fiercely.
Barbara was reunited in death with her loving husband of 53 years, Angelo Palma, Sr., who passed away in 2013, as well as her parents and beloved brother, Mark Farr, of Leavittsburg, Ohio.
Her legacy lives on through her two sons, Angelo Palma, II (New Boston, OH) and Lionel Palma (Perrysville, OH). Barbara found great joy in her role as a grandmother to Alexis Palma (Las Vegas, NV), Angelo Palma, III (Las Vegas, NV), and Larry Palma (Perrysville, OH); as well as her great-grandchildren, Rhythm and Lotus Palma.
We will hold Barbara close in our memories, knowing that her melody will continue forever in the hearts of those she loved.
