A traffic stop at the Speedway on Gallia Street turned into a three-person arrest just after midnight Wednesday.
Portsmouth police stopped the vehicle around 12:01 a.m. and reported having probable cause to search it.
Within minutes, three people were detained. By 12:25 a.m., all three were in custody, and officers called for a tow truck to take the vehicle to impound.
Police arrested Milton Jones on a charge of possessing drug abuse instruments.
Christopher Karasek was arrested on charges of possession of drugs and possessing criminal tools.
Dylan Taylor was arrested on charges of possession of drugs and possessing drug abuse instruments.
Two of the men were transported to the Scioto County Jail while officers handled the vehicle and impound paperwork.
The police log does not say what drugs or items were allegedly found during the search.
The charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
