Scioto County EMA Director Larry Mullins had an urgent request for Scioto County residents. Anyone who’s been to any event at a Lucasville church is asked to self-quarantine immediately. He contacted the media late Saturday afternoon and asked us to get this information out as soon as possible.
We were the first to tell you the Lucasville Church of God was temporarily closed due to issues related to COVID-19. (You can read that here) Now Scioto EMA Director Mullins is speaking out about the issue. He said. “The Scioto County Health Department reported that there have been several cases of COVID-19 associated with the Lucasville Church of God.” The church is located on Morris Lane in Lucasville.
Self-Quarantine
Mullins requested that anyone who attended any services or events at the church in the past two weeks, including the vacation Bible school self-quarantine for the next two weeks and monitor themselves for symptoms.
During self-quarantine, you should stay home and only leave the house for medical treatment. You should not have visitors.
Mullins said to immediately contact your health care provider if symptoms materialize.
Vacation Bible School
Church Pastor Ronnie Johnson issued this statement on Friday evening:
“I’m just coming to you on Facebook to let you guys know that we had VBS and had a great turnout. But through this, we’ve had some people come back that has tested positive for COVID-19. It’s something we don’t want to hear. Something we don’t want to look at. Some people’s even posted some bad things. But, we’re doing everything we can possibly do to keep this spread from moving on. There have been people that’s not been (at) our church that’s tested positive people that have been at our church has tested positive. The health department has come in and talked to us and I’ve talked to the state office. I think what we’re going to do is go back like we did a couple of months ago. We’re gonna go live stream on you know when we can and try to get through this.”
