We’ve covered multiple incidents with children found wandering in the streets lately, and it happened again on Gallia Pike around 9 a.m. on Sunday morning.
A woman contacted officers to say she found a small naked child walking in the road. She didn’t know who the child was or where it came from but she had wrapped it up to keep it warm and would be waiting for officers at Bailey’s BP.
Officers arrived at the scene, took custody of the child, and began to search for her parents. Police located a parent and took them to the child. The parent explained the child is autistic and partially non-verbal. Officers took both the parent and child home.
At 9 a.m. the next morning, a caller said he found a little boy around 4 years old walking with a dog in the middle of Slate Run Road. The caller said the child was shirtless, shoeless, and not wearing a coat. The caller said the child spoke to him but refused to get in his vehicle.
Officers responded to the scene and contacted CPS.
