Multiple individuals continued the recent trend of folks wandering out onto Scioto County roads.
Just after midnight, a caller spotted a man wandering in the Scioto Trail. Officers caught up with him in the 4000 block of Coles Blvd and took him into custody for multiple open warrants.
At 8 am, a caller reported a shoeless man had stumbled into the road on 12th Street. They said he appeared to be high. Police could not locate him.
Just after 1 pm, a caller spotted a man on the side of the road on St. Rte. 140. When officers caught up with the man, they gave him a ride to Gampp’s to call for someone to pick him up.
At 1:44 pm, a citizen flagged down a deputy to report a woman walking in the middle of McDermott Pond Creek Road. An officer gave the woman a ride to the Dollar General.
Callers reported a woman walking in the road trying to get into people’s vehicles on Center Street. A deputy gave her a ride to Portsmouth.
Around 10 pm, a caller reported a “really shady looking man pushing a shopping cart” on Ohio River Road. They said the man was looking into cars as he walked down the road. Officers caught up with the man near Little Ceasar’s. Police said his shopping cart was loaded with junk, but nothing appeared to be stolen. The homeless man said he was walking to Garden City from Sciotoville to visit his father.
