Chester “Wayne” Setty, 71, of Sciotoville, died Thursday, November 21, 2024, at home with his family by his bedside. Born on March 10, 1953, in Rarden, he was a son of the late Chester and Leona Ward Setty.
Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Dale and wife Marie Setty, Pam Setty Anderson, Susan Setty Wooten and Earnel Lee Setty.
Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and retired in 2002 after 30 years of service. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for the Minford School System as a custodian and substitute bus driver and retired in 2016 after 14 years.
Wayne loved spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and taking rides in the country.
Surviving are his wife, Carmen Maechelle Geisler Setty; three daughters, Heather Setty, Theresa Setty and Kelsey (Colton Easterling) Setty; several grandchildren, including Theresa Marie McKenzie and Harper Jolene Easterling, whom he helped raise; his siblings, Ron (Elizabeth) Setty, Rick (Susan) Setty, Tim (Linda) Setty, Carolyn Setty, Sherry (Kevin) Francis, Mark (Vicky Lowery) Setty, Mike Setty and Mariko Setty and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Grayson, KY with military honors by the U.S. Navy Funeral Detail and the James Dickey Post of the American Legion.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

The American flags, along with the U.S. Navy flag, will fly on the avenue in honor of our proud veteran, Wayne Setty.
