Charles Robert ‘Bob’ Seymore, 79, of Portsmouth, passed away at Hospice of Dayton on May 1, 2025. Bob was born in Portsmouth on March 17, 1946, the son of the late Benjamin Collison and Aretta McNeal Worrell Seymore.
Bob was a 1966 graduate of Portsmouth High School. He retired as lead termite technician at Orkin after 20 years of employment and was a member of the Orkin President’s Club. An Air Force Vietnam War era veteran, Bob was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service. He was also a member of the James Dickey Post #23 American Legion; and The Ohio Rome Lodge #535 F&AM.
Bob’s greatest passion was riding his Harley with his late wife, Sharon. He was a Life Member of the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club and had been with the club for 60+ years. Bob was also a Full Life Member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) and a Life Member of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA). He raced motorcycles with the AMA for seven years.
Bob was preceded in death on March 8, 2023, by his wife, Sharon Kay (Vallandingham) Seymore. The couple had married in Portsmouth on December 22, 1972.
Surviving is his niece/daughter he never had, and caregiver, Angela (Douglas) Sortman of New Carlisle; great nephews; Douglas Ryan (Raeanna) Sortman, Kenneth Jacob (Bailey) Sortman; and great-great niece, Aubrey Sortman; and his chosen family PMC past and present.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Roy Bennett officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park. The James Dickey Post Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
