A tense scene unfolded at the Royal Inn on Kendall Avenue after a caller reported an adult male pulled a knife while children were in the room. The caller, who drove a gold Trailblazer, asked to meet with officers about the incident.
When Portsmouth Police arrived, they worked swiftly to calm things down and sort out the story:
- A heated argument erupted between an adult male and a juvenile
- An adult female stepped in to break it up
- She told officers the man did have a knife in his hand at one point
- But she refused to say whether he made threats with the weapon
Everyone insisted it was just a verbal fight that got out of hand, and nobody was hurt.
The man agreed to leave the property and went with his uncle to stay in Lucasville for the night — ending the disturbance without further trouble.
⭐ A shout-out to officers for their fast response and calm handling of a potentially dangerous encounter involving kids. Their professional approach made sure this situation ended peacefully — and safely.
