It was supposed to be a simple visit — a quick stop to see the man she’d been talking to. Instead, deputies say it turned into a full-blown brawl complete with flying debris, shattered glass, and a bright red T-ball bat swinging through the chaos.
According to a report from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, a woman told deputies she had gone to visit a man she was seeing when she unexpectedly found his ex already at the residence. The surprise reunion soured instantly.
The woman said the ex began shouting insults, throwing items, and escalating quickly. One thrown object — described as a car jack handle — allegedly smashed through the back driver-side window of her Dodge Dakota.
But deputies say things got louder — and harder — when a red Easton T-ball bat entered the chat.
The woman reported that the ex grabbed the bat and began striking her vehicle, damaging the passenger-side taillight and mirror. Moments later, the confrontation turned physical. She told deputies the ex “bulldozed” her, knocking her to the ground and hitting her. She suffered minor injuries.
The man at the center of the dispute reportedly told the ex to leave. By the time deputies arrived, she was already gone.
Deputies documented the woman’s injuries, photographed the damage to the vehicle, and collected the T-ball bat as evidence.
With the bat in police custody and the report filed, investigators will now sort through what happened in this parking-lot-level clash over love and loyalty.
