Heather Gillespie, 32, of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away on January 14, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center, where she was being treated in the intensive care unit.
Heather was born on March 4, 1993, in Columbus. She spent her life rooted in Portsmouth, the community she called home and where she was known by many.
She is survived by her mother, Tina Gillespie, and her father, David Gillespie, both of Portsmouth. Heather also leaves behind many brothers and sisters, as well as extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her presence.
Heather was a mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Those who knew her remember her for the relationships she built and the connections she held close.
A celebration of Heather’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be announced by the family when plans are finalized.
Heather’s memory will live on through those who loved her and through the many lives she impacted during her time here.
