George S. Hall, 68, of Portsmouth, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, at SOMC Hospice. He was born February 7, 1957, in Scioto County to the late John F. Hall and Audrey (Thompson) Hall.
George was a hardworking, gentle, and caring man who was a devoted husband and loving father. He enjoyed collecting old and rare books, treasured his fountain pens, and was a lifelong fan of Bob Dylan. George touched many lives with his kindness and compassion and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Aiden Vernier; a brother, Bernard Hall; and a sister, Cheryl Young.
George is survived by his wife, Tama “Tamie” Porginiski Hall; his daughters, Jennifer (Greg) Adkins of Dayton, Tiffany (Roger) Vernier of Portsmouth, and Ashley (Chris) Seidel-Higginbotham of South Webster; his brothers, John Hall Jr. of Portsmouth and Ron Hall of Dayton; his sister, Carolyn Geer of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Tyler Boggs, Ethan Felty, Gracie Vernier, Sophie Vernier, and Gabriel Seidel; and three great-grandchildren, Luna Boggs, Druscilla Boggs, and Violet Felty.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Roy Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
