Two brothers got into it over a vape, and one of them ended up in jail. Officers responded to a report of a heated domestic incident just after 3 pm. Dispatch said they could hear yelling and screaming in the background.
When officers arrived at the home on Township Road 1314, a man ran out of the home screaming and cussing about his brother’s behavior. Officers cuffed him and put him in a patrol car while the police spoke to his mother.
She said one of her sons was trying to get the other to hit him and had pushed, shoved, and thumped him in the chest to provoke him into swinging on him.
The other brother said he’d allowed his brother to use his vape, but when he went to get it back, the brother freaked out and hit him. The brother then began trying to provoke him into hitting him. He said he resorted to grabbing a baseball bat and telling his aggressive brother to leave him alone. The brother told him to go ahead and hit him.
When officers spoke to the brother in handcuffs, he confirmed most of the story. He said he wasn’t finished with the vape and had smacked away his brother, who then got up in his face.
Officers took the brother into custody for domestic violence and booked him into the Lawrence County Jail
