Though the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office stopped providing Scioto County Daily News with detailed incident logs earlier this year, we remain committed to keeping our readers informed with all available data. Monday, May 19, was another high-volume day for emergency services across the county, as deputies, firefighters, and EMS crews handled more than 50 incidents throughout the day.Β 

πŸ”₯ EMS & Fire Calls: Medical Needs Dominate the DayΒ 

Emergency Squad Transports:
Crews responded to numerous medical emergencies with patients transported from neighborhoods including Dodds Rd, Carver Rd, Meadows Ln, Charlevoix Ave, Orchard Dr, Greenbriar Rd, South St, Hammerstein Rd, and even the Scioto County Jail on 16th St. The day was marked by back-to-back runs for local squads.Β

  • Dog Bite: One call came from St. Rt. 139 regarding a canine incident.Β

Fights & Assaults:Β 

  • A brawl on Big Run Rd just after midnight and another fight later that evening at a Family Dollar in Otway required multiple deputy responses.Β 
  • A serious assault on Labold Ave around 5 p.m. resulted in at least one arrest.Β 

Threats & Harassment:
Deputies investigated reports of threats or harassment on St. Rt. 139, Beekman Rd, and West Ave, with some cases ending in official reports or warnings.Β 

Theft & Vandalism:Β 

  • The Jefferson Twp Garage on Morris Lane-Blue Run Rd was the scene of a vandalism case.Β 
  • Thefts were reported on Big Bear Creek Rd and Collingwood Ave.Β 
  • Multiple investigative complaints also emerged from Gallia Pike, Super Quick in New Boston, and Gahm’s Carryout on US 23.Β 

Suspicious Activity & Alarms:Β 

  • Prowler activity was reported along St. Rt. 139 in the early hours.Β 
  • Alarm drops β€” both false and under investigation β€” occurred throughout the day at businesses like the Scioto County Dog Pound and West Portsmouth Little League.Β 

πŸš— Traffic & Vehicle-Related IncidentsΒ 

  • Traffic Offenses: Deputies issued warnings or citations at Brouse St/US 52 and Offnere/12th St.Β 
  • Road Obstructions: Congestion and blockages were logged at Rosemount Rd and Peach Orchard/Nauvoo-Pond Creek Rd.Β 
  • Vehicle Repossession: Maynard Ave saw law enforcement involvement in a repo action.Β 
  • Accident: A crash with no injuries occurred near Minford Dairy Bar.
