Officers were called in to help with an unruly child who refused to go to school. The child’s grandmother said the boy kicked his mother and then locked her out of the house.
When officers arrived at the home, the family gave them permission to kick in the door. Officers went to the bedroom where the boy was sleeping, but he refused to get up. According to the report from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the boy made himself dead weight and rolled out of bed when officers tried to get him up.
When an officer tried to cuff him, he kicked at his face. Deputies said the boy was completely uncooperative, and officers had to drag him through the house. At one point, he tried to run away.
He finally cooperated, and deputies took him to the Lawrence County Juvenile Detention Center.
