Fishing for Free Across Ohio on June 17-18

Get your fishing rods ready because Ohio’s annual free fishing days are here! On Saturday and Sunday, June 17-18, Ohio residents can enjoy a fishing adventure without the need for a license. It’s an exciting chance for people of all ages to cast their lines at numerous public fishing locations throughout the state.

Governor Mike DeWine is thrilled to invite Ohioans to experience the joy of fishing. He believes it’s a fantastic way to spend time with loved ones and explore Ohio’s plentiful fishing opportunities.

During these special days, anyone who is 16 years old or older can fish freely without a license. However, remember that a license is required for fishing on other days throughout the year. Anglers under 16, on the other hand, can fish for free all year round.

Fishing is a beautiful, enjoyable, and affordable outdoor activity. It provides a chance to connect with nature and create lasting memories with friends and family. So grab your fishing gear, find a great fishing spot, and get ready for an adventure on the water!

Remember to follow the 2023-24 Fishing Regulations, including size limits and bag restrictions, to help conserve fish populations and maintain the balance of nature. Stay safe, have fun, and make the most of Ohio’s free fishing days!

  • Ohio’s free fishing days are on June 17-18.
  • Residents can fish without a license at public fishing spots.
  • Governor Mike DeWine encourages people to enjoy Ohio’s fishing opportunities.
  • Those 16 and older need a license for fishing on other days.
