Garry Lee Hightower, 64, of Portsmouth, formerly of South Webster, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born May 8, 1957, in Dayton a son of the late Virgil Lee and Clara Jane (Ferrell) Hightower Jr. He was a 1976 graduate of South Webster High School and was a former Mill Operator. He was affiliated with the Portsmouth Apostolic Church and enjoyed home remodeling.
Garry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary (Lockhart) Hightower; two sons, Jason Hightower and Zac (Erin) Hone all of Portsmouth; three daughters, Rachel (Randy) Schintzius of Portsmouth, Lisa Hone, and Madison Hone both of Wheelersburg; brothers, Charles Hightower of Dayton, David (Libby) Hightower of Harlan, KY, Terry (De) Hightower of South Webster and Virgil (Tammy) Hightower of Wheelersburg; a sister, Phyllis Lockert of South Webster; granddaughters, Raegan and Olivia; a special great-grandson, Carter Reese.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Eric Hightower, his twin brother, Larry Hightower, and Doug Hightower; sisters, Freda Noe, Linda Barfield, Delores (Sugar) and Vera Roof.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2021, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Shannon Compton officiating. Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 5 to 7 PM and Tuesday 2 to 3 PM at the funeral home.
