Families in Minford are showing up to visit loved ones—and finding the flowers gone.
Deputies were called to Bennett Cemetery after reports that arrangements had been taken from multiple graves over the weekend. But it wasn’t just one or two.
According to a township worker on scene, they’ve gotten at least five calls in the past two weeks from people asking the same thing:
👉 “Where are the flowers we left?”
The answer?
Nobody from the township touched them.
Workers told deputies they haven’t removed any arrangements—and now believe someone is stealing them right off the graves.
Let that sink in.
👀 WHERE ARE THEY GOING?
There’s no suspect yet, but there’s already suspicion about where the items could end up.
Township workers say they plan to check:
- Flea markets in Wheelersburg
- Trade Days in Lucasville
…to see if the stolen decorations show up for resale.
⚖️ WHY THIS IS TRICKY
Right now, deputies can only document what’s happening.
For it to turn into a criminal case, each family affected needs to:
- Report their missing items
- Provide a description
- Give an estimated value
Without that, it stays an informational report.
💔 MORE THAN JUST FLOWERS
This isn’t just about decorations.
These are items people placed to remember loved ones—and someone may be taking them.
If you’ve noticed anything missing at Bennett Cemetery, deputies are asking you to call and make a report.
Because if this is happening to one family… it’s probably happening to more.
