Jeremy Sheppard Jr.’s body was recovered by the Rapid Response Services Search & Rescue Team at about 5:30 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022, according to Scioto County Sheriff Dave Thoroughman. The body was located approximately a quarter mile downstream from the State Route 348 bridge, near State Route 104.
There has been no information regarding whether or not the body was found in or near the water.
After Jeremy Sheppard Jr., age 16, was reported missing in the Scioto River near the State Route 348 bridge in Lucasville, multiple rescue crews have been searching the river and surrounding banks.
Dr. Darren Adams of the Scioto County Coroner’s Office was contacted and responded. A coroner’s inquiry was ordered and the body was sent to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. Sheriff Thoroughman explained that this is normal procedure.
