Officers responded to a murder-suicide threat, plus explained some hard facts about traffic rules after an accident. We hit the highlights of the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing

Car/Bicycle Accident

At 1:30 pm, a driver contacted officers to report a woman riding a bike hit the back of her car. She said she was pulling away from a stop sign on Young Street and a woman traveling westbound on Gallia hit her vehicle.

When an officer advised the driver that she would be at fault in the accident as she was the one pulling away from the stop sign, she declined to make a report.

Teens Causing Trouble

Officers spoke with a driver who reported some teenagers causing trouble on Dorman Drive just before 4 m. She said she was driving when a car full of kids drove by and threw objects at her car.

She reported no damage to her and gave officers a description of the other car and its teenage occupants.

Man Threatens Murder/Suicide

A frighting situation at a 17th Street Apartment. A caller told police a man with a gun was in the home and threatened to shoot her and himself.

Four units responded to the call. Police impounded one item and then arrested the man for aggravated menacing.

The man was released from jail on a recognizance bond that same day.

Doing Drugs at Grandma’s House

The manager of a Bihlman Drive property asked police to bar a man from his grandmother’s home. He said the man is not on the lease, and there’s a whole lot of drug activity going on.
