Mask Required For Concealed Carry App

If you want to apply for or renew a concealed carry permit in Scioto County, you’re going to need to wear a mask. The Scioto County Sheriff’s office will once again accept applications for concealed carry permits. but only if you’re wearing a mask. And you’ll need to wash your hands.

You heard me right, the Scioto County Sheriff says you’ll need to wear a mask if you want to carry a gun.  As Ohio slowly begins to open back up, the Sheriff’s Office will be taking applications but there are some new procedures in place.

Previously, you could just walk into the Sheriff’s Office and apply. In Scioto County’s post-pandemic world, you’ll need to make an appointment first.  Appointments will only be scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Sheriff’s Office says they are expecting a rush of people since they haven’t been able to process applications for the past several weeks due to Ohio’s lockdown. They want to limit the number of people in the lobby in order to make sure everyone can maintain proper social distancing.

You won’t be alone wearing a face covering. The employees will also wear masks.
