Mindy Lynn (Crawford) James, 45, of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 in Columbus, OH. She was born May 31, 1979 in Portsmouth, to the late James Crawford and late Tamara (James) Wollard.
Mindy was a 1997 graduate of Portsmouth East High School and worked as a Residential Aid for a Forward Health treatment facility. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Mildred Edgington and her paternal grandparents, Mike and Nadine Perkins and cousin Mikey Perkins.
Mindy is survived by her two sons that meant everything to her, Dylan Crawford of Sciotoville and Alex Mehring of Defiance, her sister, Tiffani Wollard and fiancé, Daniel Ward of West Portsmouth, two nephews, Kason and Owen, and a niece, Ava, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mindy also leaves behind a Recovery Community that meant so much to her, that included too many friends and co-workers to mention any one person by name.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Shepherd Fork/Adams Cemetery on Shepherd Fork Road in West Portsmouth. A visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday for two hours, starting at noon at the funeral home. Once finished at the grave site there will be a gathering place providing a meal and space to reminisce and find comfort together at TCC Health & Wellness Center, 505 Washington St Portsmouth.
