Olive Aldean Piguet, 88, of Portsmouth, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Bridgeport 360. She was born in Greenup County, KY on May 27, 1937, to the late Alden Jesse and Lou Ella Harr Sexton.
Olive retired as a nursing supervisor from the former Hempstead Manor. She graduated from Shawnee State Community College’s LPN Program and McKell High School in 1955. Olive also worked as an administrator for the American Cancer Society. She was a former Girl Scout leader, active LIFE Center member, and she enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and square dancing. When her husband Dick played music, she occasionally joined him onstage to sing.
On March 24, 1956, Olive married Virgil Richard “Dick” Piguet, in Kentucky. The couple had been married for 52 years at the time of Dick’s passing on September 27, 2008.
Surviving are three children, Lisa L. (Rob Wallace) Piguet, Larry R. Piguet, and Lennie Frederick (Mandi) Piguet, all of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Bryant and Jason McDaniel; and four siblings, Mike Sexton of Columbus, Carol Duzan of FL, Sheila Byrd of MI, and Stella Collier of Columbus.
Olive was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Lynn Piguet; four siblings, Denver, Larry Michael, Teddy Bob, and Wanda; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Piguet.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, Minister, officiating. The Nurse Honor Guard of the River will offer services.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
