Officers arrested Joseph Adkins for parole violation and contempt of court at the Southern Ohio Medical Center Campus just before 5 am. He was released on parole for a robbery two months ago.
Two years ago, Adkins led PPD on a foot chase when they tried to pick him up for parole violation. Adkins is currently on parole after serving time for robbery, theft, and burglary.
He was released from jail in August of 2019 with a four-year supervision period. Adkins was arrested ten times after he was released on parole.
The Ohio Highway Patrol arrested Adkins on March 18 of 2022 on charges of felonious assault, robbery, theft, criminal damaging, and parole violation.
Portsmouth Police and Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Adkins six times in 2021 on charges ranging from parole violation to theft to criminal trespass. He was arrested twice in 2020, both times for parole violations. ‘
The court sent him back to prison in September of 2022, but he was released on parole in April of 2024.
