Officers responded to a Portsmouth business after an employee said a woman wanted to file a domestic violence report. Officers assisted the woman and headed to a 7th Street home to look for a suspect. They searched the residence but couldn’t find him.
An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital for a wrist injury, and officers followed to take information for a report.

Officers were back at the home 90 minutes later after the victim said her boyfriend’s mother had taken her baby and was headed to Waverly with the child. Officers contacted CPS, and they advised the woman to return the baby. However, she refused.
