Friday saw a lot of feuding families in Portsmouth. Officers did their best to keep the peace while trying to sort things out. They were also called to the scene of an offensive flag. It seems someone did not agree with the sentiment “bullshit” flapping in their neighborhood. We’ve got the 9 highlights of all the calls. If you’d like the unfiltered version, think about becoming a VIP member of SCND.  Click here to learn how it works.

Family Matters

  • At 12:11 am, police were called to Thomas Avenue for a report of a woman her wife fighting. One of the women had apparently hit herself.  She was gone when police arrived and the other spouse didn’t want to make a report.  Thirty minutes later the other wife came back and attempted to get into the apartment. Officers escorted her to a Summit Street address. The injured woman refused treatment. Neither party wanted to file a report.
  • Officers were called to Linden Avenue at 1:13 am for a report of missing money. A father told officers he saw his son with $20. He’s missing a $100, so he thought his son took it from his wallet. He told police his son had a drug problem. The son allowed officers to search him. No drugs or money were found. Police advised it was a civil matter. The two live together and there’s no proof of theft.
  • Later that day at 11:43 am, police were called back to the Linden Avenue house.  The father said the son threatened him after officers left. He was told to call back if it happened again.
2

Time To Go

At 8:31 am, officers helped PMHA serve an eviction notice at Hudson House on 5th Street. The process happened without issue.
