Raymond S. Greene, 84, of Leatherwood, left this earth for his eternal home, surrounded by his loving family, on May 25, 2026, at his residence. He was the son of the late Austin and Nellie Riffe Greene. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Loretta Clifton, Deloris Dowdy, and Ella Mae Billups.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sarah “Janie” Greene; his son, Greg Greene, and his wife, Becky, of Greenup; his grandson, Shawn, and his wife, Wesley, of Richmond, KY; and numerous other family members and friends.
In his earlier years, he was a cattle trader, knife trader, tobacco farmer, and retired from the Greenup County Road Department with 27 years of service.
Raymond was a member of Carter City Church of Christ, where he led the singing for several years and loved his church family. He was a humble man with a heart of gold. Oh! How we will miss him.
In honor of his wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral. Graveside services will be at 12 P.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Rhoden Cemetery in Greenup, KY. Prayer will be led by Brother Ezra Greene, and scripture will be read by Brother Darrell Wireman. Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, are caring for arrangements.
