Ronald Earl Anderson, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully at his home on January 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Ronnie was 75 years old.
Ronnie was married to Linda L. Anderson on December 8, 1972, sharing a devoted partnership that lasted over five decades. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter and softball.
He is survived by his two sons, Ronnie Anderson, Jr. and his wife Carrie, Greg Anderson and his wife Shelly. Ronnie was a proud grandfather to four grandsons: Koty Anderson and his wife Makayla, Kaleb Anderson, Davis Anderson and Ash Anderson.
In addition to his immediate family, Ronnie is survived by his brother Kenny Anderson, sister, Marsha Anderson, sisters-in-law Debbie Lambert and Deeann Skinner. He was an uncle to D.J. Anderson (Shannon); Josh Lambert (Cami) and Willie Lambert. Ronnie also leaves behind his mother-in-law Bernice Skinner.
Ronnie was proceeded in death by his parents Joseph Anderson and Janet Carson Anderson, brother Gary Anderson, brother-in-law Gary Lambert, and father-in-law Jesse Skinner, also a niece Stacy Lynn Anderson.
Ronnie was deeply committed to serving the community as a Waverly Boys Youth League. Baseball Coach for many seasons, where he inspired and mentored numerous young men.
He also contributed to the local sports scene as a softball umpire for Waverly Youth Girls League, sharing his passion for the game and dedication to youth sports. Beyond coaching and umpiring, Ronnie had a lifelong love for playing men’s softball, participating in leagues and tournaments from his youth into his later years. He had the privilege to have Bud and Sparky play alongside him on many fields. The long days spent on the softball field forged many friendships, and he created countless memories and stories that will be shared for years to come.
Ronnie’s legacy of love for his family, sports and quick wit will be cherished by all who know him.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Kevin Greene officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the service at the Waverly Eagles Community Room, 243W. North St., Waverly Ohio 45690.
