Ricky “Rick” Ray Depriest, 58, of Pedro, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 19, 2023, surrounded by his family. Rick was born November 20, 1964, in Ironton, Ohio, a son of the late Edward Dewey and Catherine (Rowe) Depriest. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marta (Leffingwell) Depriest, whom he married on October 14, 1981.
Rick was a 1984 graduate of Rock Hill High School and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Waterloo Coal. Rick enjoyed the outdoors especially when he was hunting, fishing, and trapping. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Doyle Depriest and his sister, Carolyn Addis.
Those left to cherish his memory with his wife, Marta are his six children, April (Anthony Baldridge) Depriest of Franklin Furnace, Brian Depriest of Pedro, Mark (Ashlee) Depriest of Ironton, Mandy (Nick) Clutters of Pedro, James (Charity) Depriest of Pedro, Beth (Jason Hogsten) Depriest of Ironton. His three sisters, Brenda Vann of Florida, Becky Boggs and Linda Boggs both of Pedro, his thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Bob Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 12:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
