James William “Jay” Andronis, 68, of Lucasville, died Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his residence.
He was born September 18, 1954, of Portsmouth, a son of Louis William “Bill” Andronis of Lucasville and the late Rosemary Sisler Andronis.
Jay was a retired Union Iron Worker from the Great Lakes District and a 1972 Valley High School graduate where he was a four sport letterman in football, basketball, baseball, and track and voted most athletic student. Jay continued to play sports after high school and enjoyed playing music and performing in local bands.
He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Barbie Kent; a daughter, Heather James; and a sister, Marla Johnson.
Jay is also survived by his wife, Peggy Runyon Andronis; his daughter, Shannon Andronis and fiancé Tim Payne Jr. of Kingston; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Mark (Vicki) Andronis of Lucasville; and one sister, Tammy Ferguson of Lucasville.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Rob Casey officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the service Wednesday.
