Floyd Jackson Weeter, Jr, 96 of Waverly, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at his residence. He was born on August 7, 1929 in Ironton to the late Floyd Jackson Weeter, Sr and Zelma Olive Dunham. On August 7, 1947 he was united in marriage to Wilma Jean (Matthews) Weeter of Waverly. Surviving are his children; Lynn Alycia (Jeff) McCoy of Marion and Lorne Alan Weeter of Dayton; grandchildren, Christopher Clarke, Elizabeth (Ed) Eckard, Kimberly Clarke, Alan (Kali) Weeter and Bradley (Alysha) Weeter, great grandchildren; Noah Eckard, Jackson Eckard, Logan Weeter, Peyton Weeter, Kalan Weeter, Carter Weeter, Adah Clarke, Zoe Clarke, Symona Clarke and Tessa Clarke, and siblings; Carl (Esther) Weeter and Jean Sims. In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by a great grandson; Gregory Clarke.
Jack grew up in Pike County on his family’s farm. He attended Piketon High School where he played basketball. Jack served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from the Goodyear Atomic Corporation. In his younger days he was an avid sportsman playing basketball, softball, and golf. He enjoyed watching Ohio State basketball and football, The Cincinnati Reds and attending the games. He loved fishing, taking many trips to his favorite fishing camp in Canada with his friends, family, son and grandson. He loved to travel experiencing the outdoors and planned grand scenic vacations for his family. Jack loved watching westerns, reading, crossword puzzles, telling jokes and playing games with his family. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Dale Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm. Until the time of the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the America Legion Merritt Post #142.
