Linda Sue Bishop, 84, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Born on January 17, 1942, in South Webster, Linda was the daughter of the late Edward and Cora (Aeh) Fenton. She devoted many years of service as a pharmacy technician at K-Mart, where she worked faithfully for 26 years before retiring. Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved flowers, spending time outdoors, and especially cherished the moments shared with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to be with them.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Anita (Chuck) Newsom of Portsmouth, Valerie (Steven) Farrell of Wheelersburg, Dana Hightower (Stephen Yates) of South Webster, and Tanya (Mark) Scott of South Webster; her brother, Frank (Patty) Fenton of South Webster; and her sister, Janet Meadows of Scioto Furnace. She also leaves behind ten beloved grandchildren, Travis, Chad, Mike, Zachary, Cory, Dennis, Dan, Taryn, Wyatt, and Hayden, along with eighteen great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James S. Bishop; baby girl Crystal, brothers Dick, Al, John, Bill, Fred, and infant Roger Fenton; and sisters Rose Fenton, Louise Knight, Marge Lenyo, Helen Walker, Joann Williams, and infant Mary Lou.
Linda will be remembered for her kind heart, devotion to family, and the love she shared with everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved most.
Funeral Service will be Monday, June 01, 2026, 1:00 PM at D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in South Webster; interment to follow at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
