Portsmouth police officers, firefighters, and EMS crews responded to Waller Street after receiving a report that a man was trapped beneath a vehicle.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the vehicle on top of the man.
First responders worked to free him and began treating him for possible internal injuries and head trauma.
Paramedics with the Portsmouth Fire Department determined that the man needed a higher level of care. He was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for further treatment.
During the response, officers learned that the man had open warrants.
However, because of the seriousness of his injuries and the need for immediate medical treatment, police were unable to serve the warrants at the scene.
The report did not explain how the vehicle came to be on top of the man or provide an update on his condition.
