Patricia Ann Harness, 69, of Portsmouth, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at BridgePort HealthCare Center in Portsmouth. She was born on July 28, 1957, in Portsmouth to the late William Warner and Ethel Marie Montgomery Harness.
A homemaker, Patricia had worked as a special deputy at the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. She had attended Valley schools in her youth.
Surviving are three daughters, Shannon Ka (Shannon York) Kelley of New Boston, Kellie Michelle (Scott Dyer) Clay of Wheelersburg, and Melissa Marie “Missy” (Mike Duzan) Cooke of Portsmouth; two brothers, William Roger Harness of Portsmouth, and Steven Alan (Christi) Harness of Otway; seven grandchildren, Josh (Billie Altman) Lavey, Kelsey (Ashley Bailey) Clay, Angelica (Joseph Gose) Mead, Destiny (Dwayne Blevins) Clay, Ethan Feeman, Aaron (Jeulz Maynard) Cooke, and Haiden (Harmony McComas) Cooke; and 14 great-grandchildren, Victor, Dexter, Maryjane, Luna, Hazel, Jaxon, Ella, Gracelyn, Malayah, Brynlee, Harper, Hailey, Willow, and Evelyn.
There are to be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
