A Grant Street Resident contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to report that a woman took multiple blankets from his porch just after midnight.
A PPD officer viewed the man’s doorbell camera video and confirmed that a woman did take several items from the porch.
The resident didn’t want to file a police report. However, the officer screenshot the video just in case he ran into the sticky-fingered woman again.
A Hamilton Avenue resident also caught a thief on video. He said that while he was out, someone he knew came into his apartment and stole some items.
Police headed to Mabert Road and then to Wayne Avenue to look for suspects and read one of the suspects their rights. Officers took information for a theft report.
Shoplifter Hits Dollar General
Officers headed to the Dollar General on US 23 after employees reported a woman in a black jacket and pajama pants was stealing.
However, she left before deputies arrived. They advised the store to call them if she returned, and they would trespass her.
Sandwich Thief Hits Speedway
The Speedway convenience store and gas station on Gallia is a favorite target for shoplifters. and they were at it again.
Just before 9 am, an employee reported that a man the store had barred from the property came in and stole sandwiches out of a case. They said he was accompanied by a woman who they had also barred from the property.
Officers viewed video of the man helping himself to the sandwich and took information for a report.
