Vesta V. Spriggs, 92, of Waverly, Ohio Passed away on March 22, 2026, at Bristol Village, Waverly Ohio. She was born on January 28, 1934 in Pike County, Ohio, daughter of the late Lawrence and Ella McCoy Rose. Vesta was united in marriage on January 20, 1951, to Carl Spriggs who preceded her in death on February 22, 1999. Surviving are her children, Keith (Brenda) Spriggs, Jeff (Faye) Spriggs, Pam Cooley, and Darla (Harold) Cooper plus 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Betty Hopper and husband Preston of Tipp City and Laura Windle of Loveland. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cheryl L. Spriggs Heffner and Carla G. Spriggs Cox and siblings Lonnie A. Rose, Kenneth D. Rose and Glayds M. Rose Maynard.
Vesta was a lifelong member of Harmon Christian Church, Duke Ohio. She loved baking, gardening, and sewing, and spent over 20 years quilting with the Dogwood Quilters of Piketon, creating not only beautiful quilts but lifelong bonds with dear friends. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and cherished “GG.”
Funeral service will be held at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Newman Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be Wednesday, March 25 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
