A Swauger Valley Road resident called deputies Tuesday morning with a familiar complaint: his neighbor was back on his property, causing problems.
Deputies had already ordered the woman to stay off the property earlier this month. This time, the call ended with her going to jail.
Scioto County deputies responded on September 22 and spoke with Angela Shepherd, who had been trespassed from the property on September 4. Deputies arrested Shepherd on a criminal trespass charge and booked her into the Scioto County Jail.
Shepherd later appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court and was released on her own recognizance. Her pretrial hearing is scheduled for October 20.
Another Arrest on the Same Road
The latest arrest comes about a month after deputies responded to a report of a naked woman throwing items into a yard on Swauger Valley Road.
Shepherd was arrested following that call and charged with public indecency.
Her court history also includes a much more serious case involving a stabbing.
Previous Felony Conviction
Shepherd was arrested in an attempted murder case more than a decade ago. Court records show she was later committed to a mental health facility for treatment.
In 2016, she pleaded guilty to felonious assault and tampering with evidence. She received an agreed sentence of four years and 11 months, with credit for 989 days already served.
Shepherd was granted judicial release in 2017 and placed on three years of community control. She completed probation in 2020.
The September 22 criminal trespass charge is a new case. Shepherd has not been convicted of that charge.
