Joseph Roy Doughty, 79, of New Boston, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Southern Ohio Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born November 3, 1943, in Portsmouth to the late Joseph and Eileen (Mershon) Doughty. Joe retired from the Village of New Boston. He was an avid Ohio State fan and loved going racing with his grandson. In his younger years, he loved to hunt, fish, and swim in the Ohio River.
Joe is survived by one son, Joseph Doughty Jr., and wife, Diane of Wheelersburg; a daughter, Beth Madden and husband Dennis of Wheelersburg; three grandchildren, Derrick Dunaway, Kayla Dunaway, and Erica Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston, with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.
