74-Year-Old Beaver Man Killed 

Tragic Deadly Crash

A deadly two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Beaver man Wednesday morning at a busy Pike County intersection. 

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were dispatched at 7:48 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, to a crash at State Route 32 and U.S. Route 23. 

Preliminary findings show a 2007 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on State Route 32 when it left the right side of the roadway and struck a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was stopped at the stop sign on the southbound ramp from U.S. 23.

The driver of the Nissan, Terry L. McBee, 74, of Beaver, Ohio, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. 

The driver of the Silverado, Wesley L. Gaines, 41, of Rarden, Ohio, was not reported to have any apparent injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation. 

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Waverly Fire Department, Piketon Fire Department, Pee Pee Township Fire Department, Piketon Police Department, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Elm Grove Fire Department, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Portsmouth Ambulance. 

Authorities have not yet released additional details.
