A crash involving an SUV and a truck ended with one driver arrested on an OVI charge and both vehicles being towed.
Portsmouth police responded to the intersection of Fifth and Brown streets after receiving a report that an SUV had crashed into a truck.
When officers arrived, they took Ronald Reed into custody and arranged for both damaged vehicles to be towed from the scene.
Reed later appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court on an OVI charge. He was also cited for driving without working taillights and failing to wear a seat belt.
He was released on his own recognizance, meaning he was not required to post a cash bond, and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 10.
The charge is an allegation. Reed is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
